Aiming for Balance

What is Balance?

Sometimes we see a quilt and we're uneasy, but we dont' know why... and sometimes we look at a quilt and it sings to us... and once more, we don't know exactly why... We are unable to point at something specific and say "That's it!" It's about color, it's about harmony, it's about texture, it's about shape...

So I'm looking for balance and I have started simple:

Something Old, Something New

This is my design wall on those hot HOT HOT days of August in Italy...
Something old, the "Out of Darkness" quilt for a very close friend of mine... mmmmh I think on September will be 3 years from the start...
and something new, a study on layers inspired from "Intuitive Color & Design" by Jean Wells.

This is a gift for my friend: she loves cooking but she dosen't have much time to do it...

I used the beautifull patterns of Flower Festival of Kim Schaefer
